West Village Previews DIFFA/Dallas Collection 2007

Saturday, February 24th – 10 am to 10 pm
WEST VILLAGE shopping center located off bordering streets of Blackburn Street, McKinney Avenue, Lemmon Avenue and Cole Avenue is hosting an all-day event created to raise money for DIFFA/Dallas. This event is free and open to the public. Crowds will be entertained with 3 live music acts, 2 fashion shows, food and wine tastings, street performers, in-store jacket previews and much more. Participating stores will donate up to 20% of sales from the day to the Dallas chapter of The Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS (DIFFA) organization, one of the oldest and largest fundraisers of HIV/AIDS service and education programs in the U.S.
Schedule of Events:
- 12 pm – Fashion show with Live DJ on North Alley
- 1 pm – Thom Brownlee, Jr. Jazz Trio on South Alley
- 4 pm – Live music by Odis on North Alley
- 7pm – Grand Finale Runway Show with Live music by Romallice and a
Preview of the 2007 Collection of DIFFA/ Dallas denim jackets
- Food and Wine Tastings will be available (free) all throughout the day’s events as well as entertainment such as mimes, live music, DJs, and much more.
DIFFA Mission: The mission of the Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS (DIFFA) is to raise funds and grant those funds to organizations which fight HIV/AIDS by providing preventative education programs targeted to populations at risk of infection, treatment and direct care services for people living with/impacted by HIV/AIDS and that support public policy initiatives which add resources to private sector funds.
West Village is a pedestrian oriented street retail district located at 3699 McKinney Avenue. The West Village has doubled, with more in the works. It’s an evolving open-air urban neighborhood experience you just can’t get from a mall. Complimentary Valet Parking available until 4pm.
