Leading Downtown Dallas Real Estate Developers to Chair Nationally Renowned Fashion Show and Gala.
DALLAS, TX, January 7, 2008 – The Dallas Chapter of the Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS (DIFFA/Dallas) recently announced the honorary chairs for the organization’s 2008 Jacket Collection event, Cinema de la Vie. Larry Hamilton and Ted Hamilton, CEO and President of Hamilton Properties Corporation respectively, were introduced as honorary chairs at an announcement held on December 13, 2007, at Bailey Banks & Biddle at NorthPark Center. Larry and Ted Hamilton, the energetic father and son duo, have been described as both two of Dallas’ most successful residential real estate developers as well as leading forces behind the resurgence of urban living in Downtown Dallas. With the opening of The Mosaic Building in 2007, the Hamiltons have successfully restored and converted three historic buildings (including the Dallas Power & Light and Davis buildings) in Downtown Dallas into leading high-rise residences. Within The Mosaic, the Hamiltons teamed with Aperture Concepts on the launch of an innovative European restaurant, SCENE, which is lead by restaurateurs Michael Bratcher and Executive Chef Blaine Staniford. “We are delighted to have Larry and Ted as honorary chairs of Cinema de la Vie,” said Neale Jones, 2008 Jacket Collection Chair and DIFFA/Dallas Trustee. “Their passion for urban revitalization and their concern for the increasing incidence of HIV / AIDS in young people should be commended.” DIFFA/Dallas was founded in 1988 and holds the distinction of being the largest and most successful DIFFA chapter in the nation. The Jacket Collection event is the organization’s largest annual event and signature event for which it is known nationally. The event centers on an auction of more than 100 Arizona denim jackets from JC Penney, which have been redesigned, restructured and reworked into unforgettable works of one-of-a-kind art. The live/silent auctions take place throughout the evening that includes a dinner and runway show that rivals those of New York and Milan. Cinema de la Vie will be held February 23, 2008 at The Hilton Anatole Hotel. For ticket and table sales information, visit www.diffadallas.org or call 214.748.8580.
