West Elm Event Recap

If you haven’t had the pleasure of shopping at West Elm in Mockingbird Station, what are you waiting for? The store has some 22,000 square feet of home furnishings that blend global materials with natural and urban influences to create products fit for modern living. Many of the items are designed specifically for small spaces, and a growing number of the products are 100% green! As guests of the DIFFA/Dallas event shopped for their favorite items, West Elm offered a 10% discount and donated 10% of all purchases back to DIFFA.

Who doesn’t love a good cocktail to enhance the shopping experience? Bert Gallagher Jr., co-owner of Hudson Ferris Vodka, served up refreshing vodka lemonades and martinis. And if wine or bubbly was more your speed, Eric Dorton of Barefoot had you covered. And who could forget the delicious hors d’oeuvres from Deux, Urban Taco, Margarita Ranch, Trinity Pub, Papers & Co. and Vapiano (all Mockingbird Station tenants).

If you were in the mood for even more shopping after West Elm, other MS retailers were also offering a discount of 10%-25% to DIFFA patrons, including LOFT, Gap, Movida, Centre, Sunglass Hut, Bittano, Bath & Body Works and Michael Raymond Salon. Several guests won door prizes at the event, including Greg Alford, Carol Quist, Bryan Long, Kevin Terrell, Meg Fitzpatrick, Douglas Martin, Ryan Booth and India Rhodes. The door prizes were courtesy of Angelika Film Center, Movida, Bath & Body Works and Deux.

There were also a handful of auction packages that included Zoom Teeth Whitening from Pure, brunch for two at Café on the Green at the Four Seasons in Las Colinas and a trip for two to NYC to meet with a West Elm designer and receive a private VIP tour of their design studio. Eventi, a Kimpton Hotel, supplied the accommodations. A special thanks and congratulations to the winning auction bidders, Mark Mayland, Keith Davenport and Meg Fitzpatrick! And a very special thank you to West Elm’s Denise Christison and Timothy Morris, who coordinated the event! Kudos to you both!
